Anouck Thienpont is a young researcher and started in October 2019 her PhD in in vitro toxicology and dermato-cosmetology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel under supervision of prof. Vanhaecke and prof.
Rogiers in collaboration with the government health institution Sciensano under supervision of Birgit Mertens. Her PhD project focuses on new approach methodologies in genotoxicity, in particular
GENOMARK, a transcriptomics-based biomarker consisting of 84 genes that is able to identify genotoxicants based on gene expression changes in human HepaRGTM cells. Anouck is a project leader of one of the statutory projects in NIOM, practical Science and Technology (S&T) 03 course „Gene expression analysis for improved genotoxicity hazard assessment”.
