The next opportunity to acquire new skills was a three-day online course, from the 24th to the 26th January 2023. S&T COURSE EVENT 8 – „New tools in the assessment of neurotoxicity and developmental neurotoxicity” was organized by scientists from the University of Milan.
Science & Technology event was the chance to gain theoretical knowledge about new approach methodologies (NAMs) applicable in neurotoxicity (NT) and developmental neurotoxicity (DNT) studies. The ability to predict NT and DNT can be used to prevent brain dysfunction. Moreover, it allows for designing effective and safe therapies. The course offered an introduction to models for estimating the toxic effects of various external stimuli using in silico, in vitro, and in vivo methods.
All issues were discussed in a comprehensive and reliable manner. The factual preparation and the way in which the lecturers imparted their knowledge was again at a very high level.
We hope that participation in the course was the inspiration to further development of laboratory competencies for all attendees and will prompt participants to use these new methods in their future research.
